Sharing in memory of dear Prof. Maria Bitner-Glindzicz - such a kind and amazing geneticist and beautiful human being. Maria took the Norrie Disease community under her wing in 2016 and became our biggest friend. Without her kindness and belief the Norrie Disease Foundation and the life changing research to treat the hearing loss at GOSICH wouldn’t be happening.
Maria is so greatly missed but we will be forever grateful for her excellence, empathy and commitment to supporting the Norrie disease community and for connecting us to Prof Jane Sowden and the team at GOSICH who continue Maria’s amazing hard work and commitment to finding a treatment for the Norrie hearing loss ❤️
